The 2nd International Conference on the Social Context of Science invites scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore the critical intersection of science, society, and technology. This year's conference focuses on "Interdisciplinarity and Technology Assessment," fostering dialogue and collaboration on addressing complex global challenges and shaping a responsible and sustainable future.

Conference Tracks

The conference will feature three main tracks:

  1. Foundations of Interdisciplinarity
    Explore theoretical and practical dimensions of interdisciplinary research, focusing on its epistemological foundations, methodological approaches, and the role of philosophy and ethics in fostering collaboration across disciplines.

  2. Technology Assessment in Action
    Showcase diverse methods and applications of Technology Assessment (TA) in domains such as healthcare, environment, and emerging technologies. Learn from case studies, real-world labs, and advanced methods like agent-based modeling.

  3. Science, Society, and the Future
    Delve into the broader implications of interdisciplinary research and TA for addressing societal challenges, promoting responsible innovation, and shaping the future of science and technology in a rapidly changing world.


International Staff Week and Erasmus+ Mobility

This conference is part of the international staff week from May 12-16, 2025, under the Erasmus+ program. Participants are encouraged to register for the full staff week to benefit from Erasmus+ mobility funding opportunities.

Accepted abstract presenters can indicate their interest in participating in the whole staff week. We will provide support with the documentation required for the Erasmus mobility application.
